Watay Misita is a production company based in Peru, dedicated to create and support original short-form and feature-length films.
Watay Misita was born of a social project and a female film collective in Puno, Peru in 2020. lts mission is to highlight stories both made by and focused on Andean women. lts first production, “Rimana Wasi” (2022, 20 min), won the Peruvian “Bicentennial Shorts” award and screened in festivals around the world, including, Locarno Film Festival, Cinelatino Toulouse, lschia, Lima, Bogota, Primeiro Plano.
